Join us on August 4th for the Confer Pavilion Dedication Ceremony

The Confer Pavilion is almost completed and we want to share our excitement with all of you! On August 4th, alumni, staff and camper families will gather to recognize and celebrate the completion of the Confer Pavilion. In attendance will be Gary Confer, other members of the extended Confer family, alumni from all generations as well as camper families. A full schedule of events will be forthcoming. The event is scheduled to take place from 11am -3pm August 4th.

Dear Forest Lake Family,
As you all know, the Confer family started, owned, and managed Forest Lake Camp for 82 years. During those years, H.T. (Coach) Confer, Phil & Sally Confer, and Gary & Ginny Confer made it possible for thousands of us to experience the outdoors, develop new friends, and gain confidence in ourselves. All of us who went through the Forest Lake Camp experience, and were shaped by it, owe them our lasting gratitude.

While we honor the Confer Family primarily by continuing their efforts, and by striving to deliver the same wholesome experience to future children that they gave to us in the past, we always felt that we wanted to do something more.

We thought long and hard about it, and what we ultimately settled on was the construction of the Confer Pavilion, which is a covered but open-air pavilion, that serves as a dynamic “indoor” facility during inclement weather. It was a dream that Gary talked about for years, but just wasn’t possible for one reason or another. We hope to honor Gary and his family by making it happen!

The Confer Pavilion houses a multi-purpose court for basketball, volleyball, and other sports, as well as a stage on one side to house our special performances. The facility gives us an incredible resource for our campers during inclement weather and early darkness throughout the summer. It is truly an incredible building and will be the envy of any camp nationwide.

We truly hope to see you and your family on the 4th of August to share in this wonderful addition of our camp and properly honor the family that started it all.
