Now's The Time
|
|
2008 will be a landmark year
for Forest Lake in many
ways. It will be a year
you'll not want to miss. The
Board of Directors has spent
countless hours reviewing
all aspects of camp life and
the 2008 season will reflect
innovation, excitement, and
of course, the "Best of"
traditions. Enrollment has
begun and the pace will, no
doubt, quicken now that the
calendar reads 2008. So,
register now and secure your
spot to be a part of a
special summer.

Winter Report
|
|
To date (1/2/08) Forest Lake
and the surrounding area
have received over two feet
of snow creating an ideal
landscape for winter sports.
Should this trend continue,
it will be an outstanding
year for skiers,
snowboarders and snowshoers.
Keep in mind that the
Adirondacks offer
exceptional winter sports
opportunities for:
- Downhill Skiing:
- Gore Mtn.- North
Creek, NY
- West Mtn.- Glens
Falls, NY
- Whiteface Mtn.- Lake
Placid, NY *
- XC Skiing:
- Mt. Van Hoevenberg-
Lake Placid, NY *
- Garnet Hill Lodge-
North River, NY
If you venture to the
area this winter, stop by
Forest Lake to see a very
different camp. |

Camp Coup
|
|
Forest Lake is very proud to
announce that Bob Duffy has
signed on to be the 2008
Boys Camp head counselor.
Bob is well-known to
Forest Lakers from the late
90's to the present. He has
worked in many areas of the
camp program- program
director, athletic coach,
lifeguard, rafting guide,
and most notably, as the
famed "wood nymph" for the
color war opening
ceremonies.
Bob was the 2006 Golden
Arrow winner and will
certainly bring great
enthusiasm and leadership to
the position.

Site Map Nears Completion
|
|
A new "site map" is being
added to the Forest Lake
website. In a "semi
cartoonish" way it shows the
camp layout and facilities.
The final touch will be the
installation of actual
facility pictures viewable
from clicking on certain
icons. This should be a
helpful tool for acquainting
new campers with the Forest
Lake campus. |
