FLC Signs Alumni All-Star - Chris Stamm Joins Camp Administration

Forest Lake is proud to announce that Chris Stamm has joined the camp administration for the 2007 season as an associate director. Chris has been connected with Forest Lake since the early 70's when he attended as a camper, a counselor, a waterfront director, and a head counselor. During the off season, Chris teaches and coaches at the middle school level in Boca Raton, Florida where he resides with his wife, Tammy.

Chris will, no doubt, strengthen an already outstanding administrative team consisting of George Mc Donnell, John Bockelmann, Jennifer Burke, Karen Millington, Ray Head, Chris Ramsey and Lauren Perez.

Dear Friends of Forest Lake:

The 2007 camp season is upon us and Forest Lake will be opening its doors to campers for its 81st year on June 24. In advance of the season, we have the following news to report.

Set Up Weekend A Success

This past weekend a group of alumni and current staff journeyed to Forest Lake to undertake the challenge of setting up the facilities for the 2007 season. Blessed with good weather, ample gatorade, and gourmet meals, the intrepid workers accomplished goals of setting up the waterfront, the athletic facilities, and general grooming of the campus.

Among the core group were alumni Bob Hagen, Peter Rost, Nilo Paredes and wife , Christelle, and alumni director Bob Blanck. Current and past staff members George Mc Donnell, Sara Robertson, Kim Simon, Graeme Marshall, John Bockelmann, Jen Burke, Heather York, Cy Combs, Remy Ball, Erin Clark, Russ Combs, Chris Ramsey, Jason Potterton and Karen Millington rounded out the work force.

The outstanding meals were prepared by Matthew Bolton, head chef of The Friends Lake Inn.

Thanks go out to all who attended for giving FLC a tremendous head start to the 2007 camp season.

Enrollment Update

There is still time to enroll and there are available spaces for the 2007 camp season. To expedite matters, the enrollment and other pertinent forms and information are posted on the camp's website www.forestlakecamp.com Please visit to make your arrangements.

FLC Food Service-2007

Forest Lake is under contract with the Sodexho corporation to provide the camp's food service for the 2007 season.

Not so coincidentally, the kitchen manager will be Jim "Jimbo" Hinson who was the head chef at Forest Lake for several summers in the 90's. "Jimbo" is a manager with Sodexho and has been assigned to FLC.

As testimony to "Jimbo's" legacy at FLC, campers have been singing "Jimbo's" song for the past 7 years since he last worked at Forest Lake.

Ethel Davis 1918-2007

Forest Lake recently learned that Ethel Davis passed away on June 7th. Ethel was a Forest Lake institution having worked with all three generations of camp directors over a forty year period. A true camp character, Ethel will be remembered by thousands of alumni for her remarkably buoyant personality and her grace.

Those campers and staff who were present at lunch on July 15,1993 will remember when Mike Clarke lifted Ethel above his shoulders during the singing of "Happy Birthday" in celebration of Ethel's 75th Birthday.
