Alongside the long time traditional events at Forest Lake (Candlelight Campfire & Color Wars) campers have the opportunity to participate in a great variety of special events. Any occasion that includes "special event" as part of its name is a day so out of the ordinary that campers will remember it for years to come. Examples include:

• Plays
• Dance shows
• Color Wars Rush Day
• Mid-summer events (Circus, 'Drive-in' movie, Contra Dance)
• 4th of July Celebration
• All day themed events
• Fun one-off events, such as ghost hayrides and haunted houses, or medieval time, or a Harry Potter adventure
• End-of-year Banquet Dinner, with camp leader speeches, cabin cheers, and both cabin and personal awards

Outings

Special outings include miniature golf, bowling, a concert, visit to a local artist, or even the movies. Campers each summer are given the opportunity to suggest what they would like to do, which makes it all the more special.
