Our
Directors & Head Counselors
Here are the key people who manage our camp:
Sara
Robertson-Ryan, DirectorAn alumnus of the FLC staff family, Sara is thrilled to be 'coming home'
to Forest Lake Camp in 2009. After serving Schoharie County for three years as the Director of the Youth
Bureau, Sara is returning to FLC as the Camp Director. Her previous roles at Forest Lake were CIT counselor
and Program Director. A graduate of The College of St. Rose with a Master's in Secondary Education, Sara
was drawn to FLC because it combines her two passions: working with youth and working in the outdoors,
more specifically the Adirondacks Mountains of New York. To add to her affection for the outdoors, Sara
is certified as a Wilderness First Responder, en essential for safety as an outdoor enthusiast.
Sara resides in Clayton, NY during the off-season with her husband Tom, a Customs and Border Protection
Officer, and their beagle, Mocha.

Tobin
Kelly, Associate Director
An alumnus of Camp Tohkomeupog in Madison, New
Hampshire, and a graduate of Harvard College and Babson Business School,

firm.

Fessenden School in Newton, Massachusetts, and his son, Quinn and
daughter Kenzie.
Bob Duffy, Boys Head Counselor
Bob
has been working at FLC for nine years and his daughter was a camper for
three of those summers. Prior to being appointed Head Counselor, he was
the focal point of our athletic department. He coached all the major
sports and elevated the level of play of our campers through instruction
and intercamp competitions. He continues to coach several teams, referee
athletic contests, and lead the ever-popular white water rafting trips
down the Sacandaga River, which runs adjacent to his home. As a camp
administrator, Bob enjoys the fact he can "see the personal growth of
the campers and counselors during the course of the summer."
During the winter, Bob teaches various subjects to high school "at-risk"
youth in Lake Lucerne, NY. In his spare time he enjoys kayaking and
riding his motorcycle throughout Adirondack Park.
Lauren
Perez, Girls Head Counselor
Lauren spent her first summer as a camper at FLC in 1999. After
completing camper status four years later, she entered our counselor
training program (CIT) and returned the following summer as a full staff
member. Lauren has been Head Counselor for the girls camp the past two
summers and hopes "the campers and counselors can get as much out of
camp as I have over the years." Lauren continues to be actively involved
in the Dance Program, an activity she has led since becoming a
counselor, as well as the other special events that take place
throughout the summer in the girl's camp.
During the off-season, Lauren is a Political Science and History double
major at Bucknell University and is currently getting certified to teach
Social Studies. She enjoys running, reading, and of course, dancing,
when she has some free time from her studies.
Kate
Lynch - Girls Head Counselor
Kate ventured from her hometown of Perth, Western Australia, to join the FLC staff in 2007 after
completing her Bachelor of Education degree. She assisted with Arts & Crafts as well as the canoeing
and kayaking program during her first year. Her excellent leadership qualities enabled her to
return as Head Counselor last summer, which she enjoys because "I get to know all the campers and
counselors in camp, not just the ones in my cabin." Kate continues to assist in activities with the
girls, including tennis and basketball.
Kate is currently residing at a ski resort in Banff, Canada, where she serves as an Assistant Supervisor
in a day care center. She is looking forward to the snowboarding and skiing that the area has to
offer this winter.
