Forest Lake Camp

A Brother Sister Camp in the Adirondack Mountains of New York

Outdoors Adventure at FLC

Forest Lake Camp is located within the Adirondack Park, which covers six million acres. The Adirondack Park is equivalent in size to the entire state of Massachusetts. It abounds with streams, rivers, lakes, and mountains, and is full of wildlife and adventure. With 823 private acres within the park, Forest Lake Camp provides easy and quick access to these outstanding resources.

FLC's Adventure and Outdoor program provides campers with special memories as well as hands-on appreciation for the outdoors. We've guided hundreds of campers to an avid pursuit of outdoor and adventure based activities.

Every summer Forest Lake Camp gives the campers an opportunity to leave camp on a special trip.

In addition to a Senior Camp Special Outing each summer, boys and girls have an opportunity to go off the camp grounds three times during a 4-week stay for a special trip.

Wilderness Trips, Hiking, Caving, Fishing, Kayaking and Wilderness Skills

One of the advantages of attending FLC is the opportunity to venture into the Adirondack Park on several types of wilderness trips. These trips are offered to all campers, regardless of age, and include hikes, caving, fishing, kayaking and mountain biking. Trips can last from one afternoon up to a few days and are offered on an elective basis to all campers. The trips are planned so that they are age appropriate and they are lead by our long time and experienced Trips Director and qualified staff.

Climbing Wall

At Forest Lake Camp, we have two climbing walls. Our smaller wall is about 30’ tall and offers first time climbers the opportunity to test their nerves and learn the basics of climbing. Our second wall, added in 2004, is over 50’ tall, has three sides to climb, and even introduces overhang climbing to our more advanced climbers. It is a wonder to see and immensely popular with all campers. All staff members working the climbing wall have gone through rigorous training and have been certified to instruct. Safety is the #1 priority and all equipment is regularly inspected and tested.

Nature Center

Campers can paddle across the lake to visit the FLC Nature Center. Junior campers can even camp overnight here, where they learn about nature, pitch a tent and build a fire. Campers also might even get to try their hand at the old sport of 'hatchet throwing' in a safe and supervised environment!

Mountain Biking

Our Mountain Biking program provides riders of all skills the chance to get out into the wilderness under the power of a bike. With our own fleet of mountain bikes, campers can safely suit up and adventure into our miles of trails where they will improve their skills, confidence and appreciation of the beautiful forests that surround us.
