Food Services

One of the many questions often asked of camp is "how's the food"?

Forest Lake Camp serves three healthy and hearty meals 3 times a day in addition to a snack 3 times a day as well. Each meal is staggered by about 15 minutes between the girls camp and boys camp in order to accommodate the kitchen. Breakfast is served at 8:00 am, lunch is at 12:30 pm, and dinner is at 6:00 pm. Snack is served in between meals, and an evening snack is served around 7:45 pm. Every breakfast includes hot breakfast as well as a breakfast bar that includes cereals, yogurt and fresh fruit. Every lunch and dinner includes a full fresh salad bar, pasta/potato salads and cottage cheese. At FLC all meals are provided family style. This means that campers sit as a cabin unit and are served their meals at their tables. A camper is the waiter for their cabin and in charge of setting and clearing the table in addition to bringing the hot food to the table.

At FLC we contract our meal service out to Sodexo, one of the biggest and best food services companies in the country. We work with Sodexo every summer to provide a well balanced and healthy menu that kids will love. Sodexo allows us to be confident our campers are served well and we are able to focus on the rest of the camper’s summer experience. The food we provide is both nutritious and contains variety and our menu is reviewed by a Nutritionist/Dietician prior to any camper arriving to FLC. Here is a sample menu at FLC:
