Summer Sports at Forest Lake Camp

Summer camp sports: Archery, Baseball, Basketball, Cricket, Fencing, Field Hockey, Fitness, Golf, Lacrosse, Martial Arts, Netball, Riflery, Rugby, Skeet Shooting, Soccer, Softball, Street Hockey, Strength Training, Tennis, and Ultimate Frisbee.



The focus of all our activities at Forest Lake is on each camper’s skill development while at camp. Among our camper group, we have a significant range of skills. For this reason, the emphasis at Forest Lake is on taking each camper’s ability to the next level regardless of the starting point. Our coaches are trained to instruct in a way that enables a camper to play at his/her current level and not be under or over-matched. Our well maintained facilities, vast fields and safe venues allow each camper to concentrate on improving their skills.



Two guiding principles that Forest Lake Camp live by apply to the team sports program – everyone plays and sportsmanship is essential. We strive to not only teach the skills of each activity/sport but we strive to teach life skills of inclusiveness and fair play.

The athletic program has several levels. The daily program activities involve all campers and the emphasis is on instruction and support. Staff is carefully selected for their expertise and teaching skills, providing our campers with a wealth of positive reinforcement and areas to improve.



There is also an “intramural” program in which the two Camp teams (Girls Green and White, Boys Red and Blue) compete in a range of activities called Color Wars. For the more competitive athletes, there is the opportunity to join an FLC team that competes against teams from other local camps. Therefore, all campers have the opportunity to participate at a level that appeals to them.

Our golf program has increased in popularity over the years. We have a mini 9-hole fun course on the property as well as a netted driving range. We frequently offer campers the opportunity to go Golf resort to test their skills. There is no additional charge for this offering.



Our archery, riflery and skeet shooting programs offer campers a unique opportunity to learn these skills where otherwise they might never have the chance. Our professional staff teaches about safety and responsibility and ensures that every camper is provided the guidance and skills to improve. As campers improve they earn accredited archery and riflery awards, that get presented on a weekly basis at our traditional Sunday night campfire.
